Adrian
Heath was part of the group that included Victor Pasmore, Kenneth & Mary
Martin, Anthony Hill and Robert Adams that was at the vanguard of abstract
art of a constructive nature in England. In 1951 they arranged exhibitions of
their work at the AIA Gallery and Gimpel Fils in London, where they were
based, and approached the writer and critic Lawrence Alloway to define the
aims of the group further by means of a book. Heath taught for many years at
the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham and was associated with Newlyn and St.
Ives, where he spent much time painting. He had numerous solo exhibitions at
major galleries such as the Redfern and Hanover.
These prints are all signed on the reverse and since they are framed I have
photographed and attached copies of these signatures and titles to the back
of the frames. They were produced in 1976 and are entitled “Gastard”, a
village near to Corsham.
All of the images are 28.2cm by 25.9cm (11.1” by 10.2”)
