Back in the early 1960's Alan's studio was in fact just around the corner from what is now the Harlequin Gallery and there are still a number of his former employees living in the area. In fact Alan was responsible for quite a pottery colony in Greenwich, as he sub-let part of his workshop to Bernard Rooke, who had originally come to work for him a few years before, and to Robert and Sheila Fournier. Examples of Alan's work included in the exhibition can be viewed by clicking here.

Amanda Wallwork grew up in Greenwich in a creative household, surrounded by art and artists and never considered doing anything else. Upon leaving school Amanda completed a Foundation Course in Art & Design at Yeovil College and then obtained a BA Honours in Graphic Design & Illustration at Brighton Polytechnic in 1979. After graduation she spent a number of years producing work for record sleeves and illustrated several children's books before deciding to concentrate on her paintings about 5 years ago. These she describes as "being like a form of prehistoric map hinting at stories, places, journeys, rituals and time.... inspired by the marks and symbols used by our ancestors."
