Although
this exhibition does not try to give a comprehensive overview of the period,
it does hopefully bring together some interesting and affordable works of art
that are still available from the fifties, sixties and seventies. In recent
years many mass produced items from this era have rocketed in price.
Conversely, many individual works of art of equal importance have either been
lost or forgotten. Hopefully this exhibition will help to address this
imbalance in some small way. All of the
items that illustrate this newsletter are to be included in the exhibition
but lack of space prevents me from detailing more of the work. Below are
the artists represented by one or more items in the exhibition listed under
the category into which their work best fits. More
details about them and their art will be available at the gallery during the
