Denis Bowen is one of the most respected abstract painters in this country, with a significant international following. However even in his long and varied career, the two years since his last Harlequin exhibition have been particularly exciting.Besides having a book written about him and his career, the Tate has recently purchased three of his works. So as well as seeing Denis’s paintings at the Harlequin it is also possible that some may appear in SE London’s "other gallery", the Tate Modern, in the future! Work by Denis in the Harlequin Gallery exhibition included framed oils on board, canvas and paper, together with unframed smaller works on paper. Denis and the three potters shown are all featured Harlequin gallery artists.
