Crowan Pottery
(1946 to 1962)


Harry and May Davis, who had met and married during their time at the Leach Pottery (1933-37), started the Crowan Pottery after converting the old Crowan Mill near Praze in Cornwall and remained there until they moved to New Zealand in 1962. The pottery primarily made functional domestic ware to a very high standard that was decorated with brushwork, wax resist or incision.

 A few examples of Crowan Pottery included in the Pottery from Cornwall exhibition are shown below: -
