George Rowlett was born in Troon, Ayrshire in 1941 and studied art during the 1960s at Grimsby School of Art, Camberwell School of Art and finally at the Royal Academy Schools. He has had numerous solo exhibitions around the world including Germany, South Africa (Everard Reed Gallery, Johannesburg), USA (Belloc Lowndes Fine Art, Chicago) and in the UK where he is represented by Art Space Gallery, London. The painting above dates from around 1988 and was obtained directly from the artist at the time. It is reminiscent of the work in Rowlett’s solo show at the Albemarle Gallery in 1990
