Miscellaneous Japanese Teabowls

in the exhibition – March 2005

 

Below are some of the other teabowls by Japanese potters that are included in the exhibition that runs from 6th March to 3rd April 2005.

 

 
Norio Mizuno Seto sakura chawan with signed box.
As well as winning numerous prizes in Japan has exhibited in China and Australia. He has been invited and taken part in the Faenza International in Italy 4 times.

Nezumi-shino chawan made in Gifu Prefecture by
 Shin-zan.
Height: 8.1 cm (3.2”)
Diameter: 10.7 cm (4.2”)


Bizen chawan with signed box by Matsukasa Yukinori.
Matsukasa was an assistant to Fujiwara Ken and studied with two living national treasures, Fujiwara Kei and Kaneshige Touyou. He opened his own kiln in 1982.

The Ohi family are closely related to Raku – the first Ohi potter was the son of Raku III.
