Markus Klausmann

Markus Klausmann from Germany was born near Freiburg and started potting when he was around 18 or 19 in 1979. He says that British potters were his first influence, as he was able to see their work in a local gallery when he was a teenager. However, his work has taken on other influences over the years. He uses a gas kiln for firing but often packs his pots in sawdust, resulting in his works distinctive style.
