This second
solo exhibition of Yuriko Hill's ceramics at the Harlequin Gallery is
especially pleasing, as Yuriko was one of the first "unknown"
potters whose work I showed. After being part of two mixed exhibitions and
having smaller items of her work available on a continual basis, Yuriko had
her first solo outing two years ago. I think that any gallery owner will
agree that it is very difficult to get clients to come and look at, let alone
buy, work by artists trying to establish themselves. Yuriko has proved the
exception with her work having been purchased by my regular clients, people
who have never bought studio pottery before, artists and owners of serious
modern art collections. Her second
exhibition will consist of around eighty pieces of work ranging from her
miniature forms to work on a much grander scale and include glazes and shapes
not previously shown. Yuriko will
be present at the Private View when the usual queuing system will operate.
Please feel free to come along if you are able, if not, then
please remember that the exhibition continues until close of business on
Easter Sunday (11th April). |
