Donald Wells
Donald Wells is a
sculptor, who was born in Silverdale Staffordshire back in 1929 and studied at
Newcastle-under-Lyme School of Art, where Jack Clarkson, an associate of
Henry Moore, taught him. His first solo exhibition was at the AIA Gallery, London in 1962 and
during the Sixties he showed in numerous exhibitions in London, including
ones at the Drian Gallery, with which he was closely associated for many
years. His work in bronze, plaster and stone can also be found in numerous
public and private collections not only in this country but also in France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Poland and Australia. Donald has
also exhibited at the Arts Council, the Carnegie Institute Pittsburgh, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and Beaux
Arts in Bath. Donald has
had two exhibitions of his sculpture at the Harlequin Gallery in the past but
his most recent exhibition in October 2005 concentrated on his paintings that
have never been exhibited anywhere before.
